The “hustle and bustle” of beautiful, historic down Beaufort is only 10 minutes away. Founded in 1711, Beaufort is the gem of the Carolina Lowcountry with its lovely 18th and 19th century homes, modern waterfront park, and idyllic historic streets dotted with inviting restaurants, beautiful galleries, and eclectic shops. 

 

A short 20 minutes in the opposite direction is Hunting Island State Park where one can enjoy swimming, surfing, or simply breathing in the temperate, salt air. Hunting and Fripp Islands are equally as close by as are historic sites such as Fort Freemont dating from the Spanish American War.

Further afield yet less than an hour's drive away are Hilton Head Island, Bluffton, and Savannah with Charleston just a few minutes further.
